Maj. Gen. Robert Carruthers, Commander of the Florida Army National Guard, presided over the 83rd Troop Command's change of command on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center.

Brig. Gen. Alex Harlamor, the outgoing commander, is now serving as the Director of the Joint Staff, Florida National Guard, and Col. Jason Hunt, the incoming commander, previously served as the Camp Blanding Joint Training Center commander.

The 83rd Troop Command is headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida, and is an extremely diverse command that consists of special forces, aviation, signal, engineers, explosive ordnance disposal and weapons of mass destruction-civil support teams.
