State Command Chief Master Sergeant, Florida Air National Guard
Chief Master Sergeant Angella M. Beckom is the 12th Command Chief Master Sergeant for the Florida Air National Guard, St. Augustine, Florida. In this role, Chief Beckom represents the highest level of enlisted leadership and is the principle advisor to the Florida Air National Guard Assistant Adjutant General on all matters pertaining to enlisted Airmen. In this role, she is directly responsible for all matters influencing the health, morale, welfare, job satisfaction, discipline, utilization, family support, quality of life, and professional development of more than 2,000 Airmen. She provides guidance and mentorship to more than 34 Chief Master Sergeants throughout the state. She is the Enlisted Field Advisory Council Region 3 Primary representing the Airmen of AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, PR, SC, TN, and USVI. As the Region 3 Primary, she aides in proposing solutions, providing legislative, and executive oversight, and recommending policy action to the Air National Guard Command Chief on issues and concerns impacting the enlisted force of the Air National Guard. Prior to accepting this position, Chief Beckom served as the 125th Fighter Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant.
Chief Beckom entered the Air National Guard in December 1990. She graduated from Information Management Technical Training School at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi in May 1991. After serving in a Traditional Guardsman status as an administrative apprentice for the 125th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron she was selected as a Health Services Management Journeyman with the 125th Medical Squadron. In 1998, Chief Beckom was selected for an active-duty tour with the Florida National Guard Counterdrug unit as the Demand Reduction Program Manager. Chief Beckom successfully served in this capacity until December 2002 when she was selected as an Active Guard and Reserve Health Services Management Craftsman for the 125th Medical Group. Prior to promotion to Chief, she served as the Health Services Management Superintendent for the medical group tasked with providing expert leadership and management of health services functions as well as supervising and leading several full-time military and civilian personnel. Chief Beckom culminated her assignment with the 125th Medical Group on 30 June 2020 as the Group Superintendent serving as a key member of the group’s leadership team and the commander’s key enlisted advisor on operational effectiveness and training and equipping of Airmen. As a medical executive team member, she provided guidance for more than 110 professionals facilitating the delivery of preventative health medicine to Florida guardsmen as well as medical support for state and federal missions. She was also charged with providing leadership and oversight for a team of experts assigned to the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP) providing services within Federal Emergency Management Region 4. Chief Beckom’s leadership also encompassed medics assigned to the Critical Care and Air Transportable Team. Throughout her military career she has played an integral role in the expert management and oversight of successful deployment processing of several thousand Florida Air National Guard personnel in support of numerous stateside as well as overseas deployments. Chief Beckom provided expert medical knowledge to Barbados, Grenada, and Guyana during State Partnership Programs exchange of information forging a highly successful and positive relationship between each country and the United States.
