Colonel Frank A. Zenko

Garrison Commander, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center


Colonel Frank A. Zenko assumed command of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center (CBJTC) in July 2018. CBJTC is a premier training venue providing resources to enhance joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multi-national training in support of the nation, state and local communities.

He previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff Logistics for the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG).

Colonel Zenko was commissioned from Marion Military Institute in 1988 and joined the FLARNG in Tallahassee, FL while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University. His career commenced with the completion of Ordnance Officer Basic Course and subsequent assignment as a platoon leader in the 708th Maintenance Company, Quincy, FL.

Colonel Zenko served in various key development assignments throughout his career to include Commander of the 708th Maintenance Company; S3, S1, and S4 of the 927th Corps Support Battalion; and S3 and Executive Officer of the 53rd Support Battalion. Colonel Zenko deployed to Afghanistan (2005-2006) with the 53rd Logistics Task Force with the mission of providing critical logistical support to the 53rd Infantry Brigade and Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix IV. Colonel Zenko served as the Battalion Commander for 2nd Battalion 211th Regiment (RTI), a schoolhouse General Studies Battalion that was later re-designated as an Infantry Battalion. Colonel Zenko’s next assignment was the Deputy Commander of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center. With his experience in training management coupled with his intimate knowledge of installation management Colonel Zenko was assigned and currently serves as the Post Commander of CBJTC. His military experience provides breadth and depth spanning five Major Subordinate Commands in the FLARNG.

Colonel Zenko’s military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Florida Distinguished Service Medal and the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe.

Colonel Zenko has a BS in Finance from Florida State University and a master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Colonel Zenko and his wife Cathy split residences in Alachua, FL and Tallahassee, FL and they have two sons, Tyler and Spencer.
