Colonel Evans earned her commission as an Army Engineer Officer in 2000 through the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. After completing Engineer Officer Basic at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, she was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, where she served as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Company Commander. While Commanding Headquarters & Headquarters Company, Engineer Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, she led her unit on a 15-month deployment to Iraq, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom II. In 2005, she transitioned to the Florida National Guard, where she has served in multiple command and staff assignments. Her command assignments include Commander, 269th/868th Engineer Company; Commander, Headquarters & Headquarters Company, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, Commander, 753rd Brigade Engineer Battalion, and Task Force Caiman Commander, Soto Cano, Honduras. Her staff assignments include Engineer Officer for Joint Force Headquarters, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, and 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team; Battalion Operations Officer for 53rd Infantry Brigade Special Troops Battalion; and Deputy Director of Future Planning Domestic Operations, Joint Directorate of Military Support (J-35) and Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs (J-5) for Joint Force Headquarters. From 2012 to 2014, she returned to active duty on special assignment as Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General of Military and International Operations, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C. She recently returned following graduation from the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS) at Norfolk, Virginia.
Colonel Evans’ academic education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University, and a Master’s Degree in Joint Campaign Planning and Strategy from the Joint Forces Staff College. Her military education includes multiple engineering and contracting courses, Support Operations Course, Army National Guard Resource Management Course, Fiscal Law Course, Equal Opportunity Advisor Reserve Component Program Course, Advanced Operations Course, Command, and General Staff College and the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS). Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Florida Distinguished Service Medal, Florida Commendation Medal and Combat Action Badge.
Colonel Evans is a traditional Guardsman with full-time employment as the Owner and CEO of E2 Roofing | E2 Design & Construction and VetCor of the First Coast. She splits her time residing in Nashville, Tennessee and Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
